Re: Lice Guard

Tea Tree Oil is effective against lice, but even though it is natural, it is very toxic. Please use in recommended amounts and keep stored away from children.

Re: Snake Den at the Beach??

Is it true or just a Facebook rumor? Big Difference! An official statement has now been posted: "The Resource Manager's Office has received many phone calls today regarding a possible copperhead nest near the beach area. A young boy was bitten over the weekend by a snake of unknown species but...

Re: Snake Den at the Beach??

The bouy's in the water? Yes, a little boy's family is posting that he bitten at the bouy by a copperhead, and the pictures do clearly show fang marks. Sounds like they were swimming near a rocky area of shore. Does anyone know if a den was actually found? I don't get it. a little boy was at the bo...

Re: House votes to repeal country-origin meat labeling law

You'd think it would be a viable option for Harlan with Lee County farms being so close.

Re: House votes to repeal country-origin meat labeling law

Ugh! This is very frustrating news. (I'm a vegetarian but have some meat-eaters in the household.) I almost always pay $7.99/lb for local, grass-fed beef from a farm down the road. Often I also buy the $5.99/dozen eggs and pay $10 for two chicken breasts. (Though I have to say, the quality of all t...

Re: DC Site

I had a fever all night, so I'm feeling all kinds of out-of-sorts today. My mind is probably not in good enough shape to handle this. Yet, I'm curious, so I'm going to go look.

Re: Farmer pleads guilty in sex abuse case

I don't know this man or anything about him. From his pic I would never want to meet him alone in an unlit area. Completely harmless... I think he may have felt cornered and did what was best for him in the situation... He could have been the target of a vindictive person with complete influence on...

Re: Newly Elected Officials Being Sworn In

I had really high hopes the year Alred and some others took office that Harlan County was evolving. Now I'm very cynical about politics from the local to national level.
