Wow! I was thinking you fellers were totally against handouts? Now you're upset when a local vendor doesn't feel obligated to handout a fireworks display?
Has Walmart ever paid for one? Or CVS Pharmacy? Or any other big franchise you spend your money with?
Cate McCalley wrote:I get that Pappy. I don't have a horse in this race and have no clue why Don's isn't sponsoring a fireworks display this year.
If I traded with them (I don't live there.. so I don't), their not sponsoring fireworks this year, just doesn't seem like something that would stop me trading there.
Now if they were abusing their workers, cheating and short changing the public, selling horse meat & roadkill for hamburger meat, etc. well...I would boycott them and try to get it stopped. But not because they decided to stop sponsoring something or somebody. It's a person's or corporation's choice to give or support something. Just because they've been generous to a cause in the past, doesn't obligate them to keep giving. They're entitled to their reasons, same as anybody.
Heck, we may not like it that a relative that never brings a dish to the family's monthly pot luck dinner, but is always the first in line to eat. But we don't slam the door in their face and kick them out of the line.

On both sides of the road, and every parking lot in between full. One of the owners told someone they didn't make enough profit to have it this year. The cost to them is 10,000. They sell that in coke products on the first.
