That's a damn insane amount of money per pill. Ok I'm on board Cate. Let's regulate the hell out of Big Pharm.

The real shame is people in other countries can buy the whole treatment for a fraction of what Big Pharma charges the American public.

In the long run it would be best for insurance companies to cover the medication.

Don't worry about a HIV, Hep C Appalachian pandemic . Your Governor will take care of this threat as soon as he gets back from his European tour.

Matt Bevin will attend the Hannover Messe Fair in Hannover, Germany this week as part of a five-day trip to promote Kentucky manufacturing. One of the prime reasons for drug abuse is poverty, so one could say he was working on the problem.

Right. Drug abuse is a poverty problem. And so is pandemic HIV & Hep C. Has Bevins even peeped about it? He's reduced money for drug counseling and related drug abuse problems in the 2017 budget. Can you honestly say Gov. Bevin's is 'working on the problem'?

They have hamstringed him with all the pork added to the budget. Many things they knew we couldn't afford, but they added them anyway.

It most definitely is, and seems to be growing in Leslie County.

You all need to be bringing every voice you can to Frankfort to keep expanding Medicaid. Obamacare is the only hope Eastern Ky. has to get HIV and HepC treated. Take that away there's no hope.

Obamacare isn't a fix all Cate nor is it our only hope. Obamacare acts like a Ponzi scheme. You have to have healthy new members signing up to pay for the older unhealthy members. Medicaid was find as is. It just needed to be tweaked to increase the income level of those eligible.
We need for law enforcement to start cracking down on dealers, and not out being paper servers. I had a ex junkie tell me that when Marvin J was in his first term in office that he had to hunt 24/7 to find his fix. It was part of the reason he checked himself into the psych ward to detox.

It may surprise you to learn that healthy insured members paying for unhealthy insured members is exactly how traditional health insurance works. The difference with Obamacare is those providing the coverage must spend no less than 80% of their premium income on delivering direct medical care to it's insured members. The federal government provides subsidies for people that can't afford those premiums. People that can afford health insurance, don't need to be subsidized.

Suppose you tell me how people with HIV and Hep C will afford treatment to thwart an epidemic in Eastern Ky without the 90% of federal dollars contributed to their Medicaid coverage? Is Ky so rich it has funds to provide treatment for them? So rich that it can affird to subsidize people that can't afford their health coverage premiums?

Already tour Republican Governor has cut funds for drug abuse rehabilitation. So where's the big effort to bust meth labs and stop illegal opioid distribution?
