Once you commit or plan to commit an act of war against the US you are no longer a citizen... You are a treasonous son of a bitch and deserve what you get...

I actually read part of this bill, and posted in the other topic. This bill does not cover U.S. citizens, it covers U.S. Nationals.

Are you guilty of reason once you're accused or does it have to be proven? Out of curiosity?

Due Process be damned in the aftermath of post 911 America. Thanks to the eight year reign of terror by Bush/Cheney, America is ever closer to the police state these fascists envisioned.

In post 911 America, you are GUILTY before you can prove your innocence.

I agree and it all leads back to The Patriot Act. The same act that has been expanded with the current administration.

I'm in complete agreement there, we should have never passed the Patriot Act.

At least we now know why the govt has built so many FEMA camps.

Section 1032 (a) CUSTODY PENDING DISPOSITION UNDER LAW OF WAR, paragraph (1) states: “IN GENERAL. — Except as provided in paragraph (4), the Armed Forces of the United States SHALL HOLD a person described in paragraph (2) who is captured in the course of hostilities authorized by the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40) in military custody pending disposition under the law of war. (Emphasis added.)

Section 1032 (b) APPLICABILITY TO UNITED STATES CITIZENS AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS, states: “(1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS. —The REQUIREMENT to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.” (2) LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS. — The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to a lawful resident alien of the United States on the basis of conduct taking place within the United States, except to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the United States.” (Emphasis added.)

It clearly states it is not a requirement that they detain American citizens, it does not say it is prohibited...

I think if you are accused of treason and there is evidence enough to be arrested and tried then you should be put on trial and when convicted a sentence handed out and it be a public matter...

You don't lose your rights the minute you are accused of something that is not the American way of life and out respect for the rule of law....
