Republicans have no excuse for not proceeding. They made claims and promises for 7 years now. Let's see the rubber hit the road.[/quote]
Today 51 Republican Senators failed to take medical insurance coverage away from 16 million Americans, and give the private insurance companies an annual 20% in premiums to cover anyone not covered under an employer plan, for the next 10 years. Three Republican Senators put their consciences above partisan politics and refuses to be bullied by party leaders or your President. One in particular, Senator John McCain, made it possible to do what should have been done years ago...bipartisan participation to fix Obamacare.
The Honorable Senator John McCain, a member of the generation Tom Brokaw correctly titled his book 'America's Greatest Generation', stood speaking to his colleagues with wisdom and courage missing in the greater majority Republican & Democrat Senators today. Senators that place party politics above the best interest of America and it's people.
Senator McCain's historical speech is reminder that bipartisanship in the halls of Congress, with unflinching courage and sacrifice, is what has made America great.
“Let's return to regular order,” he said. “We've been spinning our wheels on too many important issues because we keep trying to find a way to win without help from across the aisle.”
"Whether or not we are of the same party, we are not the president's subordinates. We are his equal,.....We don't hide behind walls. We bridge them.”
