Though I don't like The Donald, if Sanders does not win the nomination (and I predict he will not), I will have to vote for Trump. The main reason would be the hope that he could and would kill TPP.
Regardless of MSM's accusation that Trump knows nothing of the TPP because he stated TPP is to benefit China, an examination of Trump's claim proves that he does indeed know China will be a significant beneficiary of the Agreement.
Trump knows the way the Agreement is written will allow the signatories of the agreement to buy cheaper materials from China, such as steel, and other raw materials. For instance with NAFTA a country point of origin must contain 62.5% material from that country to be declared 'made in' that country. With the TPP it effectively reduces it to 35%.
What Trump recognizes and expects is that China will come through the backdoor of TPP with it's cheap supply of raw materials to the TPP's signatory countries. Since China is not a signatory, it is no way bound to the terms of the agreement. An agreement that would allow it to ship parts in small batches of a declared value of $1,000 or less, to TPP signatory countries. In other words China could manufacture 100% of all the parts needed to make an item, ship them in small batches to signatory countries where they would be assembled and sold without any tariff restrictions to the U.S. And other signatory countries, while at the same time maintaining their own tariffs on imports from these countries.
The language that reduces the actual content of products manufactured by those signatory countries to 35%, is found in the agreement that declares the value of exported items from signatory countries, not the cost of the materials used in their manufacture. The value of these imports include assembly, shipping and handling of products, not only the expense of the materials used in their manufacture.

Maybe we should just declare Mexico and Canada territories and annex them? Lol!

I don't see such an Amendment ever materializing. Yet hope does ring eternal.
